Happy New Year! It’s officially time for me to share my goals for 2022. I know, I know, so cliche. But I love it. A New Year won’t change anything but it’s nice to close off chapters and open new ones. My goals are never ridiculous, and hopefully, I can achieve them all. Here’s to hopefully a far better year than the one we’ve just left!
Family Goals
Weekend Fun – I want more weekend coffee dates, exploring local towns, park trips, activities at the weekend, baking for fun. Just simple things that during my busy months we miss out on. I just want those simple days. Either a Saturday or Sunday will be a day just for us.
Holiday – I want a Center Parcs Holiday. Maybe even be totally stupid and go in a half term! I know the price, the price. But we have both worked so hard in 2021 we absolutely deserve a holiday. I want 5 days in the forest. It’s happening. I might have already booked the holiday just after writing this post!
Maybe this year? – One not ticked off from last year was another addition to our family. While I’m trying not to get caught up in the whole TTC it can be really hard some days. I know our time will come, it will happen. We waited 2 years for Edith so I know it will happen. Maybe 2022 will be our year?
Work Goals
Book – It didn’t happen in 2021. Because well 2021 was a real poop of a year. Anything that wasn’t essential had to be laid aside. I’m going to schedule it into my workload and make one day or evening a week just for writing. I’m also going to start the process of finding publishing agents etc.
Consistent Content – I want to get back to writing my blog posts, I did really well but then the Christmas rush came along. I want to keep up with my newsletter, which is approaching its 3rd year. I want to continue creating seasonal content for Instagram. I would also love to start creating Reels for small businesses. I just want to keep showing up and be fulfilled with creative briefs and working with amazing brands.
Work Smarter – I want to get more automation in place, things like ads for promoting presets, organising content in advance. I want to get to a place where I don’t feel like I’m winging it. I want all of these things to work in my favour. Rather than pushing for more, I want to use what I’ve already got and make those work for me!
Life Goals
Healthy Body, Healthy Mind – I absolutely achieved my goal of getting fit in 2021. Weight loss is such an emotive subject, but truthfully I didn’t feel healthy or good in myself this time last year, not because I felt pressure from anyone or hated the way I looked. It just didn’t feel like me anymore and my mental health took a bit of a hit. Through sensible eating, taking up running and plenty of walking I managed to lose 4 stone in 2021. I want to lose 7lb more to get to my target. But honestly, the way I lost weight has become my lifestyle now. No restrictions or fads so I just want to continue this. Running twice a week, walking as much as I can with an audiobook, healthy but not restrictive eating, and 2l of water. I also want to take time for myself in the evenings again. My self-care slips in my busy times, but candlelit baths, posh hand cream, and earl grey tea are going to become a more regular thing!
Organised – I want to be more in control of things. Simple things like admin, life, and work. I want to keep the house clutter-free and find a cleaning schedule that works for us. I want to not feel overwhelmed by everything there is to do. We have already got rid of 20 bags of things we no longer need so I want to continue this. Also, I want to sell some of the things we no longer use too, see below!
Save and save again – In 2021 we paid off all our debt as a couple and began to start saving. We have made such a great start and I want to continue this into 2022. By the end of the year, I would love to be in a position to be able to go to the bank and say give us a mortgage! Every penny we have put into savings comes from hard work, no gifts of money or family borrowing. So when we do finally get to where we want it’s going to feel incredible that we have worked hard for it!
Word of the year: Fulfill
I loved having a word of the year last year, mine was nourish, it gave me focus. This year is all about fulfilling my dreams, fulfilling life, and therefore feeling fulfilled in everything I do.
