Walk
Here I go again banging on about how much I love walking and how good it is for us, but it’s so true. Throughout November and December when I was really busy with work I ran maybe three times in total those months. But I kept up with walking as much as I could. Most days I hit 10k steps still and throughout that time I still lost weight and gained fitness. It’s so simple but so good for you. Stick on some music or an audiobook and get outside! Or if you’re not feeling getting outside there are plenty of walking workouts on Youtube or just march around the house!
Meal Plan
I have always been a big meal plan kinda person. I like to know what I’m eating, what ingredients I need, and what I need to cook. Meal planning is a great way to ensure you have balanced meals. I tend to go for healthy lunches and dinners and then treats in the evening. It saves money too and I’m now getting into the habit of sharing my meals and meal plans on Instagram stories more. If you’re looking to calorie count then you can do that with MyFitnessPal a brilliant app that helps keep track of things.
Clean
Hear me out. Cleaning is a great cardio workout, plus it means you get a clean house which is brilliant for your mental health too. Everyday tasks are exercise so getting on with those is a great way to get in exercise without really trying!
Portion Size/Stop Picking
A bigggg one! Step away from the leftovers. You’ve finished your plate and that’s enough you don’t need to finish the kids. Also, look at portion sizes, you could probably cut down a little, even just a small amount could help!
Water
And it doesn’t even have to be water! I tend to drink sugar-free squash to encourage me to drink more, sometimes too much water can make me feel a little sicky. I have one of those countdown bottles and although I don’t stick to the times it definitely helps to encourage me to drink more. I got mine from Home Bargains for just a couple of pounds!
